Is it really work if you have this much fun?

Is it really work if you have this much fun?

Chiropractic Arts was founded January 1, 1990, at its present location. Dr. Barbara Buettner, after having worked for a local chiropractor was given the opportunity to open a solo practice. Chiropractic Arts is a hands on chiropractic practice that only does chiropractic care along with some muscle work. It is known as a straight chiropractic clinic.

Often in this practice chiropractic care needs to be supplemented with muscle work, hot and cold therapy, exercises and home care. These are explained to each patient and tailored to each case. We recenlty added to our team a Massage Therapist named Ashley Hardin, she works closely with Dr. Barbara to provide the best possible treatments! We strive to be involved with the patient's everyday life and activities to help their health be optimum.

New patients must have an appointment, as we need time to evaluate each individual. Once established and under a treatment plan patients are allowed to become walk-ins as necessary.

Chiropractic Arts is a fun loving, easy going, patient oriented practice. Each patient is treated as an individual with care and concern for their health. Expect a unique health care experience at Chiropractic Arts!

Dr. Barbara

Hi, I am Barbara Buettner, D.C., the D.C. stands for Doctor of Chiropractic, the degree I earned in 1987. I am from Cullman and love this city! Both my parents are from here, Richard and Barbara Buettner, and they still live in Cullman. My brother, John, lives in Montgomery and is a dentist. His wife, Kendall is an orthodontist and they have two awesome daughters, Dawson and Laurel. I am a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church here in Cullman.

I firmly believe God told me to be a chiropractor. It is an interesting story how I followed his lead to my life’s work. Ask me to tell you the story sometime!! I graduated from Life Chiropractic College (now University) in Georgia. Before attending Chiropractic College I graduated from Cullman High School, attended Auburn University, University of Alabama and Wallace State College. I attended several colleges to allow me to quickly finish my requirements for Life College, asap! I still have to say “War Eagle”, even after attending all these colleges.

I practiced at another local chiropractic office for three years before opening Chiropractic Arts in 1990. It has been an exciting and interesting many years caring for my patients. I have many third generation patients and huge extended families of patients. Word of good care travels fast!

Throughout the years we always have an office pet. We currently have a Black German Shepherd named Tesla (Tess for short), a Sugar Glider named Clairce, and the newest addition a Beta Fish named Cleo. In 2015 we lost our most famous office dog Emma who came to work for 11 years and was loved by all. Animals have a great relaxing factor for all.

I am married to Dewayne Jennings of Vinemont and have one stepson, Jake. Dewayne is retired military and now is farm manager of our farm, Paradise Hollow. We live on the west side of Cullman, north of Trimble. I enjoy riding and driving my horses, training dogs, driving “the dragon” in my convertible, riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, canoeing, hiking, rappelling, playing my banjo, and knitting. Whew that’s a lot! But it keeps life interesting. Come by we can pick a little or talk about our latest adventures!

Candice Scott

I am Candice Scott, Office Manager. I started my adventure at Chiropractic Arts in January 2017. I'm married to Trenton Scott, he is the IT man for Cullman Parks and Recreation. We recently purchased our first home in the Cullman Historic District. I never knew how much work a home really takes!

We have two fur babies named Sarah and Rosie! Sarah is my fearless 10 pound Rat Terrier. She loves hiking, sleeping, and a nice warm towel. Rosie is my newest addition, she is a bubbly Red Merle Aussie. Rosie loves water, hiking, picking on her sister, and learning new tricks! I love talking about my kiddos, and yes they are my kiddos! I love collecting vinyl records. We have a nice collection started, but it only continues to grow. My favorite bands are The Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Jimi Hendrix...you get the drift. I love spending time on Smith Lake and pracating  yoga.

I'm a Cullman Native, who moved away and came back, I graduated from Cullman High School in 2009. I attended The University of North Alabama and graduated in 2014. I have a BBA with a concentration in Marketing. I can pretty much handle any task thrown at me. I have worked in several different positions from Management at GAP to Assistant Property Manager in Huntsville. I'm a very hard working, outspoken, and giving individual.

I'm very excited to work in a Chiropractic office, and help people out! I strongly believe in Chiropractic care, as well as holistic alternatives. I'm striving everyday to become healthier individual and spread my knowledge to someone in need. I love working at Chiropractic Arts, it's like a family here! I look forward to meeting each and every one of you, and making some memories!

My name is Ashley Hardin; I am the massage therapist here at Chiropractic Arts. I too am a Cullman native, Good Hope to be exact; but I live in Jasper, AL on Smith Lake.

I graduated from Birmingham School of Massage and immediately jumped into the massage therapy world. I have two fun, loving, fur children; Micco, the sometimes lazy but cuddle worthy Siberian Husky; and Margo the hyper, young, and cuddly Lab Mix, who loves to play and be out on the water. I love to go out on the lake; canoeing; kayaking; hiking; camping; reading;(I am a huge bookworm) Alabama football -Roll Tide!- and especially yoga.

I attended Wallace State then lived in Mobile for five years and attended University of South Alabama for a couple years. I am a licensed massage therapist with a dual certification in professional massage therapy, and neuromuscular therapy with plans to explore the multitude of massage therapy modalities, such as Thai Yoga Massage; Reiki; Myofascial Release (a typical fibromyalgia technique); and Lymphatic Drainage; to mention a few. I love to learn and I believe this career path provides exactly what I seek to never have to stop learning. I am also in yoga teacher training currently, and will graduate and become a RYT (registered yoga teacher) in October; so get excited for more opportunities to get healthy at Chiropractic Arts!

I love and self-study herbs and herbal remedies, and hope to someday be recognized as an herbalist as well. I am already an independent distributor for Natures Sunshine, an herb and supplement company. I am so very excited for this opportunity Candice and Barbara have given me, and even though I have known Candice since high school, and am beyond excited to meet new people and develop new relationships. Come see me and we can get you loosened up and/or talk about herbs!
